Cold Lake Cold Lake is a city in the Canadian province of Alberta. It is situated approximately 280km (about 200 miles) east of Edmonton on the Alberta/Saskatchewan border. Originally founded as the Town of Cold Lake Beach in the early 20th century, it expanded greatly in the 1950s when the Royal Canadian Air Force formed a large Fighter Station and a "Pinetree Line" radar station there Cold Lake Alberta .
